East Wittering single-storey link extension and whole house renovation project is now well underway.

JB Architecture was tasked with a brief from our clients to create a link extension between the main habitable building and a garage structure.

The client's only criteria was that they wished for an extension that would stand out and complement the existing seafront location.

Our clients will benefit from the perfect internal/external entertaining space with curved bi-folding doors that almost fill the link single-story extension area. The curved bi-folding doors allow the courtyard-facing extension frontage to open up to a landscaped garden area.

With a zinc flat roof installation and no internal piers, it's sure to be a stunning area where our clients can relax and entertain family and friends.

Working with the structural engineer, JB Architecture has designed a lightweight structure hidden within the ceiling and wall constructions. This allows for no bulkheads or piers within the single-storey extension area, which maximises the amount of natural light entering through the large window openings.

A full property renovation and garage conversion are also being carried out, allowing for the creation of additional bedrooms, en-suites, home office areas, and entertainment spaces.

A complete roof replacement, insulation upgrade, and external window and door replacement are also being undertaken, allowing for this tired-looking building to be brought back to life.

With so much work being undertaken on site, we will update you on developments along the way.

East Wittering project is progressing well onsite.

The multiple dated single-storey attachments have been removed on this project to make way for this stunning and timeless two-storey extension that will blend seamlessly with the existing property through the continuation of the existing form and materials. The previously hidden entrance door will now be a standout feature amongst the single-storey front extension, which a beautiful oak porch will frame.

With its expansive, open-plan kitchen and dining area, as well as an inviting garden room, this extension has truly revolutionised the ground-floor space.

This project offers fantastic views out onto the landscaped garden area, which can be accessed via a large set of bi-folding doors located at the rear of the extended area.

The proposed pitched roof construction over the rear single-storey extension continues around the side and front single-storey structures, allowing for vaulted roof spaces and more efficient thermal constructions to be achieved.

With the removal of nearly every ground-floor internal wall structure towards the rear of the property, this project offers our clients a large, open-plan living area.

The proposed first-floor works have enabled the installation of a lightweight timber-clad construction partially over the ground-floor extension area, allowing for the formation of an additional bedroom.

This was a highly intricate project, where JB Architecture was tasked with designing out as many downstands as possible and all structural posts alongside a structural engineer. This meticulous planning has allowed for seamless ceilings and unobstructed views throughout the open-plan spaces.

With the installation of skylights over the kitchen and garden room area, as well as the glazed gable, this proposed space will bring in a significant amount of natural light to the newly formed area.

The existing garage area has also been converted into a home office space and utility areas, allowing for areas within the existing building floor plan to be freed up.

TITCHFIELD, ANNEX STRUCTURE, SITE VISIT PICTURES

Our Titchfield annex structure project is almost complete.

This annex structure features two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living space, all with stunning views over the surrounding landscape from the veranda. It has given our clients a fantastic space for visiting family members to stay.

Once the landscaping is completed around the perimeter of the building, this structure will be ready to welcome its first guests.

With its expansive open-plan kitchen/dining area and inviting garden room, this extension has truly revolutionised the ground floor space.

This project offers amazing views out onto the landscaped garden area. To aid the views, a curved set of bi-folding doors is installed into the curved external wall of the single-storey extension.

With the removal of pretty much every ground-floor internal wall structure, this project offers our clients a large open-plan living area.

Within the loft space, JB Architecture was able to offer a mezzanine space for one of the smaller bedrooms. This turned a box room into a large bedroom split over two levels in the property.

This was a highly intricate project, where JB Architecture was tasked with designing out as many down stands as possible and all structural posts alongside a structural engineer. This meticulous planning has allowed for seamless ceilings and unobstructed views throughout the open-plan spaces.

The open plan extension area allows our clients to take in the views from their stunning landscaped garden area with an increased master bedroom and ensuite at the first-floor level.

Petersfield single-storey rear extension along with internal renovation project now complete.

Consisting of a large open-plan kitchen/dining space and a garden room this extension has completely transformed how the ground floor space is used.

Replacing an existing conservatory area this parapet wall extension has brightened up the rear of the property due to the installation of 2 x large roof lanterns. Along with the installation of 2 x crittall style French door installations, this extension has given our clients the perfect space to entertain and relax with family and friends.

DENMEAD, FIRST FLOOR DORMER INSTALLATION, SITE VISIT PICTURES

Pictures taken during our recent site visit to a large dormer installation to existing first-floor accommodation over a stable block.

Working with the structural engineer’s JB Architecture was able to design a lightweight structure that could be constructed off of the existing structure in order to gain as much habitable space within the attic.

Once complete this dormer will allow for uninterrupted views over the surrounding stunning landscape.

PETERSFIELD, TWO STOREY EXTENSION, SITE VISIT PICTURES

Petersfield two-storey side extension gets underway on site.

Not a lot to look at currently but the large open plan ground floor family/garden room area can clearly be seen from these site pictures.

Consisting of a large open family/garden room at ground floor level and a master bedroom suite at first-floor level this extension is sure to give our clients much-needed space as their family grows.

The single-storey section of the works will benefit from stunning views out onto a newly landscaped garden area following the project’s completion.

Our clients also requested additional acoustic upgrades throughout the existing property.

This consisted of additional construction detailing allowing for approved British Gypsum soundproofing systems to be installed to all partition walls and ceiling constructions.
